How
to create an MP3
-
If your
song is on CD, you just need a CD Ripper (Here is a FREE one)http://nch.com.au/rip/index.html
-
If your
song is on cassette, simply plug your cassette player into the computer and
follow the same step as below
-
If you
have never recorded but are just about to do it: (Now we're talking)
What you
need:
-
A song:
(That's really helpful)
-
A
computer (If you are reading this, odds are in your favor)
-
A
microphone (If you intend to sing or record an acoustic instrument)
-
A
recording program (Audacity is really cool. Basic and FREE. You can download
it at
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/)
-
A
credit card (Give it to your family to go shopping and leave you alone while
you are making noise at home)
In this
example all I did was:
Open
Audacity
Click
Project
Add New
Stereo Track (I chose stereo because I plugged my guitar into a stereo chorus
pedal and my computer has a stereo IN)
After I
played the 3 chords I know, it looked like this

Next I
added a New Audio Track (This time I plugged my MONO microphone into the puter)
I sang my
little heart out lalalallalala
After I
got bit by the dog, it looked like this

I played a little with the effects in this
program and it sounds like this
From this point, you can just export the song as
an MP3(There is a little plug-in to download but it also is FREE)
If you don't have it in your computer, Audacity
will tell you how to get it and how to use it
There you go, this is NOT pro recording but at
least, you know that I can play 3 chords, write lyrics and you have a pretty
good idea how I sound
This is what I think MonsterGiG is all about,
having the opportunity to be heard.
